Resources to Help U.S. Citizens and Partners in Afghanistan
As your Representative, I am committed to helping U.S. citizens, SIV petitioners, and vulnerable Afghan partners who remain in Afghanistan to get to safety as soon as possible.

Assistance for U.S. Citizens:
- If you are a U.S. citizen, it’s critical that all travelers enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program at http://STEP.State.gov.
- You must complete this Repatriation Assistance Request for each traveler in your group by clicking here.
- You may contact the State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs at 888-407-4747 or 202-501-4444.

Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) for Afghans
- If you or someone you know has an approved petition for an SIV, please email NVCSIV@state.gov or call (603) 334-0828.
- If you have a pending petition, please email my office at NC06.Casework@mail.house.gov or call my office at (336) 333-5005.
- Applicants for Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) notified of eligibility for travel to the United States through Operation Allies Refuge will receive further instructions.
- For those who are eligible for an SIV, but do not yet have an appointment or have not yet applied, please immediately contact AfghanSIVapplication@state.gov.

U.S. Refugee Admissions Program Priority 2 Designation for Afghan Nationals
- On August 2, 2021, the State Department announced a Priority 2 (P-2) designation granting U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) access for certain Afghan refugees and their family members.

ALLIES ACT
On July 30, 2021, the President signed into law H.R. 3237, an emergency supplemental appropriations act that included critical resources and additional visas to support local allies who worked alongside U.S. forces in Afghanistan. This legislation makes 8,000 additional visas available to Afghan allies and streamlines the Afghan Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program, to help expedite evacuations to the United States as lawful permanent residents.
