Congresswoman Manning Visits Kernersville VA Clinic

June 4, 2021

Kernersville, N.C. – This week, Congresswoman Kathy Manning (NC-06) made her first visit to the Kernersville Veterans Affairs Clinic. While visiting the Clinic today, Congresswoman Manning met with staff including Salisbury VA Health Care System Director Joseph Vaughn and Assistant Administrator Lacy Upchurch. They toured the facility including the state-of-the-art Cardiac Catherization Lab and the Endoscopy Suite. Congresswoman Manning also learned more about the mental health resources available to veterans treated at the Kernersville Clinic.

“This week, I visited the Kernersville VA Clinic, a state-of-the-art veteran’s care facility, to learn more about the services offered to the more than 32,000 veterans treated at the facility annually. It was a pleasure to meet with Clinic leadership to discuss ways to continue improving veteran’s care,” said Congresswoman Manning. “As Congress deliberates on the American Jobs Plan, I will continue to advocate for investments in VA health care facilities in North Carolina and across the country.”

“It was so nice for Congresswoman Manning to take time out of her busy schedule to visit our health care center in Kernersville,” said Director Vaughn. “She was very interested in our operations and the challenges that Veterans face. Her passion for Veterans was evident and she made it clear that we have her full support. That’s really all I can ask for as a director. I very much look forward to working with her.”
