Congresswoman Manning Votes to Pass the Women’s Health Protection Act

September 24, 2021

Protecting a Person’s Right to Make Their Own Health Care and Family Planning Decisions

Washington, DC — Today, Congresswoman Kathy Manning (NC-06) voted in favor of H.R. 3755, the Women’s Health Protection Act. This bill ensures that all individuals will have the right to make their health care and family planning decisions, free from government intrusion.

Ahead of the vote, Congresswoman Manning spoke on the House floor stating:

Mr./Mrs. Speaker,

I rise in strong support of the Women’s Health Protection Act. Congress must take action against the Republican’s relentless attacks on women’s reproductive freedom, including medically unnecessary restrictions and blatantly unconstitutional bans on abortions.

These state bans go against fifty years of judicial precedent. We must take action now to protect women and their freedom to make decisions about their own bodies, their own health, their own families. I urge my colleagues to support this vital bill. I yield back.
