The office of Congresswoman Kathy Manning is seeking three interns for a 10 week, paid internship during the Spring of 2022. Successful candidates will be current college students or recent graduates and have ties to North Carolina’s Sixth District. Responsibilities include assisting the Legislative Team with research, drafting memos, communicating with constituents, and tracking hearings, legislation, and policy developments.
Successful applicants will have excellent research and communication skills, a strong work ethic, and interest in public policy. They must also be detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities include drafting press releases, talking points, compiling and distributing daily clips, media monitoring, assisting with social media content and special projects as they arise.
A qualified candidate will be a strong writer and communicator, interested in press strategy, be ready to work in a fast-paced environment and take initiative to accomplish important tasks. Familiarity with Canva or other graphic design programs is a plus.
Responsibilities include working with staff to research legislative issues, assisting with administrative tasks, drafting constituent correspondence on a variety of issues, assisting the district office team with various tasks, and other projects as they arise.
